Succulent Growing Tips
Use well-draining succulent soil (and pots with drainage holes)
Lots of bright light Outdoors: 4-6 hours of sunlight. Inddors: West or South facing windowsill, or use grow light.
Dry completely between waterings In Florida, you can usually wait 2-3 weeks. When in doubt, pay attention to what the bottom leaves are telling you. Dry and crispy: ready for watering, translucent and mushy: overwatered.
Err on the side of underwatering Overwatered plants can die in a week. Underwatered plants will last a month.
Soak thoroughly after it is dry Bottom watering is best. If watering from the top, avoid getting water on leaves.
Slow growers Over time, gently remove dead leaves around the bottom. It could be a few years before repotting is needed.
Fertilize occasionally with succulent fertilizer or 1/2 strength all-purpose fertilizer.

Repotting Your Desert Rose
- Desert Roses are best repotted during the Spring & Summer, when they are waking up from their dormant rest.
- They like to be repotted when their soil is dry.
- Use well-draining succulent/cactus soil & well-draining pots with drainage holes.
- General rule for pot size is to go up 2"
- Fill new pot with fresh soil.
- Create a hole in the middle of the soil.
- Sprinkle kelp meal into the hole and then use a spray bottle to spray the kelp meal into the soil.
- Gently remove soil from around the roots of your desert rose to prepare it for its new pot.
- Place desert rose into the hole, keeping it at the same soil level depth on the caudex.
- Snuggle desert rose into its new pot by gently patting down soil around it - add a little extra soil if needed, just being careful to keep it at the same depth, no deeper.
- Wait 3 to 4 days, and then give it a good soaking.
- Remember to let the soil dry completely between waterings.
